At the office of Barry K. Roberts, Attorney at Law, in Norman, my practice is focused exclusively on civil appeals and original actions in the Oklahoma appellate courts. At my office, I understand that many skilled and experienced trial attorneys rarely handle civil appeals and that the great majority of litigators are involved in few appellate cases in their careers. Since 1992, my entire practice has been dedicated to cases before the Oklahoma Supreme Court and the Courts of Civil Appeals. Since opening my practice, I have personally handled more than 150 civil appeals and original actions in the appellate courts of Oklahoma.

Appellate practice differs from trial practice in its focus on the written presentation of complex issues of law and fact. An appellate practice requires a combination of good, solid legal research skills and a passion and talent for the written word. My work has gained a reputation throughout Oklahoma as some of the best seen in the appellate courts. In a significant part this is due to the fact that before opening my own office, I spent eight years as a Judicial Assistant to Justice John Doolin at the Oklahoma Supreme Court, and during that time I gained extraordinary insight into the workings of the appellate court system, and I learned what goes into a good appeal.

I have always worked with clients and counsel to create fee structures that work for everyone. My fees are flexible and include either charges at an hourly rate or a contingent fee.
